What we do with your information

The short version

Here's what JMEX Contracting Ltd. does with the details you send through this website.

It's short, because the site doesn't do much. There's one form, on the contact page. If you fill it in, an email goes to Jake. That's most of it.

We don't track you and we don't set cookies.

We never sell your information to anybody.

What you send us

The form on the contact page asks for:

• your name
• your company (optional)
• your phone number
• your email address
• the kind of work you need
• whether the project is residential, commercial or industrial
• where the job is
• when you're hoping to start
• whether a machine can get to the work area
• the best way to reach you: call, text or email
• a short description of the job (optional)

You only send this if you choose to. Nothing is collected before you press "Send to Jake."

What we do with it

We use it to get back to you and work out what the job needs. We don't add you to a mailing list, and we don't pass your details to anyone else or sell them.

How long we keep it

We keep what you send us for 12 months from the day you sent it, then delete it. That covers the copy the form service holds and our own email record of it.

If you'd like us to delete yours sooner, ask. See "Your choices" below.

Where it goes

When you press "Send to Jake," your browser sends what you typed to Formspree, a form service that handles it in the United States. Formspree emails it to Jake. We don't run our own form server, so Formspree is the only company that handles your message on its way to us.

• What's sent: only what you type into the form, the fields listed above.
• Who receives it: Jake, by email. Formspree handles it for us so it can be delivered, and keeps a copy in our form account until we delete it.
• Where it's handled: Formspree transfers personal information to the United States, so your details leave Canada and are handled under U.S. law while they're with Formspree.
• Technical details: like any web form, Formspree's servers also see the basic details that travel with every request, such as your IP address.

What gets saved on your device

Nothing. This site sets no cookies and saves nothing in your browser, so there's no cookie banner.

Other companies your browser talks to

This site serves its own fonts (Saira Extra Condensed and Instrument Sans) from our own server, so loading a page doesn't send a request to Google Fonts or any other font service. The pictures, styles and scripts also come from this site. The site is hosted by Vercel, which delivers the pages to you, and like any web host it handles the basic details that come with every request, such as your IP address. When you press "Send to Jake," your browser sends the form to Formspree. See "Where it goes" above.

Counting visits

We don't count visits. There's no analytics on this site of any kind.

Links to other sites

A few links go to other websites, like the one at the bottom of each page to the studio that built this site. Once you click one you're on somebody else's site and this page stops applying. They have their own rules.

Your choices

Under British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act, you can:

• ask us what we've got about you. We'll answer within 30 days.
• ask us to fix anything that's wrong.
• ask us to delete it. If we don't need it for the job, it's gone.
• change your mind and tell us to stop holding it.

If you're not happy with how we handled a request, you can complain to the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia at oipc.bc.ca.

Jake, the owner of JMEX Contracting Ltd., is responsible for the information this site collects. Call or email him with any question about it.

If any of this changes

We'll update this page and change the date at the top. If it's a big change, like adding something that tracks you, we'll say what changed.
